Playing the Ducks...

This has become one of the hardest weeks to look forward to each year. As Oregon has become one of the premier teams in college football over the years (by cheating), we, as Husky fans, have had to endure years of obnoxious, unintelligible Duck fans who have gained a national following for........their uniforms. I don't think there could be any other way to hate the Ducks after years of growing up hating in every way the boys from Eugene (shitty town), but this new "tradition" of having a different uniform for every game really eats at me.

Accompanying their stupid style of play that resembles a 7 on 7 drill at my high school football camp in Moscow, Idaho, are these dumb freaking uniforms. What the school basically said was, "we have sucked for so long, we need an overhaul, and we will do it by throwing tradition out the window." And what's worse, people all over the nation think this it is the coolest thing in the world. Watching the Ducks on TV is really hard to do. The fans, the stadium, the field, the fans, Chip Kelly, Kenny Wheaton, the fans, the uniforms, their recent success and the fans make it a miserable experience.
For the past couple of years we have relied on the rivalry thing to get us through the lead up to games. You know, "throw the record books out, these teams hate each other and it doesn't matter if one time is #1 and the other is #120, it'll be close." Well, unfortunately that really hasn't been the case for the Dawgs. It really has been lopsided, but here we are. Coming off of a big win against #8 Stanford while Oregon has played a ton of cupcakes and struggled a little against Wazzu, yeah, that Wazzu. The UW defense got through its eighth grade school year against Stanford, the squeaking and acne are on their way out, and balls are about to drop....This Oregon team is fast and frenetic, and we haven't seen anything like this all year. Wilcox's boys really stepped up against a smash mouth team, but will that translate against the no-huddle bull poo Oregon does all game? I am optimistic. Not that we are going to go into Autzen and steal a win, but that we are going to see a Husky team that really did take a step against Stanford. That the defense can keep us in games as opposed to the offense.

Will we win? Maybe. But what we can look forward to is our first french kiss, which is right around the corner.

By the way, if you really want to get pumped for the game tonight, go to www.HuskyLoyal.com and download the documentary. It centers around the last game at Husky Stadium last year....against the Ducks. It will get you even more pumped than you already are.

Go Dawgs!!!
